School Programs

Education in an outdoor setting encourages students to think critically and creatively, and effectively guides them in learning about the relationship between human actions and their impact on the natural world. Our school programs are based on curricula aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards, Ocean Literacy Framework, and Environmental Education Guidelines for Excellence.

ESC strives for a ratio of one instructor for every 13 students in the field in order to provide high quality instruction and personal attention for every student. Our programs use classroom sessions to compliment the two to three-hour inquiry-based field program at various locations around south King County including Seahurst Park and the Cedar River.

Our two main school programs include Beach Heroes for K-3rd grade students and Salmon Heroes for 4th-8th grade students. We also offer a fall teacher professional development workshop series geared towards 4th-8th grade teachers that is offered each year. Find out more details by following the links below.
