Water Heroes

The Environmental Science Center created a Water Heroes initiative in local school districts to further engage students in preserving our watershed.  These students have participated in classes and field studies that examine the water cycle and the effects of human behavior on the environment.  Students who participated in the Salmon & You Program also learned how to be Water Heroes and the special water quality needs of salmon.  After participating in the program, students could pledge to adopt three behaviors to protect, to conserve, and to educate others about our watershed, Puget Sound.  To honor these students’ commitment to environmental stewardship, they received an Official Water Hero identification card.
