During the school year, ESC naturalists bring a variety of lessons to students during after-school programs. These programs help keep students engaged in learning during “at-risk” times of the day. Students gain a deeper understanding of the world around them while exploring their role as a citizen and a scientist.
ESC offers summer programs in partnership with the City of Burien’s Camp Craz, New Futures’ Marine Camp, and the Highline School District Summer Science Blast Camp. All our offerings are designed to contribute to student appreciation and enjoyment of science – a key to students becoming self-directed learners and gaining confidence in this core competency. In the future, as staff capacity allows, ESC plans to extend offerings to fill most of the summer weeks. If you would like notification of summer programs, please email our Outreach Manager, Jennifer Dumlao: outreach@envsciencecenter.org
