Summer Fun in Downtown Renton

Hands-on science activities and exploration kits designed to get you outside to learn more about the Cedar River, downtown Renton, and the plants and animals that call this place home!

Join ESC naturalists on the first Saturday of the month this summer at Liberty Park, in Renton, for free hands-on science stations and to check out one of our new Family Nature Kits! Designed to give explorers of all ages and abilities a more facilitated way to explore outdoors and downtown Renton. Backpacks can be checked out any time after 10:00 AM and returned by 3:00 PM. Activities include:

  • Water quality testing
  • Bug hunting
  • Scavenger hunts
  • Photo challenges
  • Plus so much more!

This program is in partnership with the City of Renton, Renton Library, and the Renton History Museum. It is funded by the generous support of King County Wastewater Treatment Division and King County Healthy Parks grants.
