Thank you for your understanding, and we are grateful to the City of Burien and greater community for working together to help us safely get back to in-person programming.
Bird Fest Activities
Join us for free public activities around the park from 9:00am-1:00pm! No registration required.
Participate in outside activities provided by the ESC and Tiny Trees Preschool including a salmon dissection demonstration, binocular building craft, and a hands-on owl pellet dissection!
Bird Basics Lecture
Join expert birder and naturalist Ed Dominguez of Seward Park Audobon for a fun and informative outdoor lecture on basic bird identification. Meet us at Dottie Harper Park Amphitheater where you will learn how to use all of your senses to get to know our feathered friends!
Bird Count Walks
Expert birders and naturalists Ed Dominguez of Seward Park Audobon and Kevin O’Malley of South Sound Nature School will guide participants as they help Cornell Lab, Audubon, and Birds Canada track the number and species of backyard birds in Burien and around the world!
Walks will consist of a guided bird count and instructions on how to enter data onto ebird, followed by small group Q & A.
If both sessions are full, we invite you to join us digitally to count birds in your own backyard through the eBird or Merlin bird ID apps!
